At Kussmaul Seeds, we offer different alfalfas to fit our customer's different needs. For the Aggressive Producer, who is after 5 and 6 cuttings per year, maintain a high fertility program, requires fast recovery and wants superior yield. We offer Summit and Ascend 552. These proprietary varieties have good winterhardiness and maintain uniform yields through each season's harvest. For our Western Customers, we offer Sustain W and K9681 Brand Alfalfas. Sustain W was bred to help thos producers in the western region gain an extra cutting each year. With aggressive management and high fertility, this variety's fast recovery, improved standability, and exceptional tolerance to higher pH soils will help growers maximize total yield of high quality forage each year. K-9681 best fits the more traditional 2 to 3 cuttings per year typ operations. Grower's in dryland areas or where irrigation water is short, have had great success with this variety. Winter survival with K-9681 has been exceptional. Haymaker Supreme continues to be one of our top seller each year. This variety is well suited for those 3-4 cut harvest systems and for longer rotations. Plants are fine stemmed, very leafy and med-tall. Haymaker Supreme is the top choice for growers who bale their crop. Commercial growers have customers who seek out this variety for their dairy operations. Bronco Alfalfa fits in almost any environment and multiple farming practices. Best adapted to 3-4 cut harvest practices and for late season grazing. Responds well when pushed by aggressive managers, maintains stable yields and tolerates high wheel traffic. Great choice for rented lands. Kussmal Seeds also offers three different varieties of Alfalfa that are tolerant to Roundup herbicide. These 3 alfalfas have Fall Dormancy ratings from 3.0 - 4.0 and are all tolerant of high wheel traffic. They are fine stemmed, have high leaf expression and are solid yielders. Kussmaul Seeds realizes that different growers have different requirements. Our goal is to make sure that we match the right alfafla to meet our customer's expectations. |
